ATR42 SilverAirways 640Silver Airways files for bankruptcy protection

On 30 December 2024, Silver Airways announced it has voluntarily filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. It will continue to operate as normal. A Chapter 11 proceeding is a way for companies to restructure without the fear of creditors filing for bankruptcy of the company.

According to Silver Airways, the restructuring process will take the first quarter of 2025. During that period, the airline is hoping to attract new capital and restructure its finances.

Silver Airways was founded in 2011 on the remnants of bankrupt Gulfstream International Airlines. It has its headquarter at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International (FL) and launched flights in December 2011. It currently has a fleet that is made-up of eight ATR42-600s, and six ATR72-600s.
