Skybus Air Cargo welcomes "new" DC-8F

On 14 May 2022, Skybus Air Cargo welcomed a "new" DC-8F to its fleet, when DC-8-73F N805SJ (46125) was ferried from Kingman (AZ) to Miami (FL). At Miami it will receive a bit of final love and attention and should then (re)enter commercial service.

This particular DC-8 has been owned by Skybus since December 2017. First as N805DH, but in September 2018 it was registered as N805SJ. Initially, the Douglas was stored at Victorville (CA) but it was transferred to Kingman in June 2020 where it was prepared over the last two years to enter service with the airline.

Skybus Air Cargo is a Peru-based airline, established in 2016. Next to the re-delivered DC-8, the fleet consists of DC-8-73CFs OB-2059-P (45990) and OB-2158-P (46091). Both are mainly operating cargo-flights out of Miami to destinations in the Caribbean and Latin America. Next to the three freighters, Skybus also owns DC-8-72 N872SJ (46067). This DC-8 is outfitted in a VIP-configuration but has been stored at Kingman since February 2017.
