Spirit Airlines to lease additional A321neos

Lessor Air Lease Corporation has signed a lease-agreement for ten new A321neos as well as the sale and lease-back of five new A320neos the airline has on order directly with Airbus. The A321neos are coming directly from ALCs orders with Airbus and are planned for delivery in 2023 and 2024. Spirit is adding the ten additional aircraft to facilitate it's growth strategy for the coming years.

With this latest lease deal, Spirit is now planning to take on 30 A321neos, with twenty directly ordered with Airbus. It also has open orders with Airbus for 35 A319neos as well as 63 A320neos. This year and next year, Spirit will take delivery of 40 A320neos and the first A321neo is due in 2023.

Currently, the number of aircraft in the fleet stands at 168, consisting of 31 A319s, 64 A320s, 43 A320neos and 30 A321s.
