Surinam Airways leases A330-200
According to Surinam newspaper Dagblad De West, Surinam Airways has signed a lease-agreement for a single A330-200. The aircraft in question is former VH-XFC (1293) of Virgin Australia, currently registered 9H-GKL and is currently undergoing a C-Check at Istanbul. Previously this A330 was slated to go to Tus Airways from Cyprus, so let's see.
The Airbus is set to be delivered in mid-December and the airline plans to start using it on the Paramaribo-Amsterdam route in February 2022. With this A330, Surinam Airways is taking the next step to operate its own aircraft again. Currently, its flights are conducted via wet-leases.
