Thai Airways officially says goodbye to the Jumbojet

On 23 April 2024, Thai Airways organised an official goodbye party for the Boeing 747. Although the airline already retired its final two Jumbojets in March 2020, it still decided that it didn't want to let the moment go by quietly.

For the ceremony it towed one of the two aircraft, B747-400 HS-TGG (33771), into a hangar. The other remaining Thai B747-400 is HS-TGZ (28706), which has also been stored at Bangkok-Suvarnabhumi since March 2020.

Thai Airways in total operated a total of 26 B747s, consisting of six B747-200s, two B747-300s, and eighteen B747-400s. It took delivery of its first Jumbo in November 1979.
