Uganda Airlines shopping for new aircraft
According to The EastAfrican website, Uganda Airlines is actively shopping for new narrowbody aircraft. The airline is seeking for a medium-haul aircraft that can bridge the gap in the fleet. A final decision about a potential order is planned for later this year.
The news-outlet is reporting that Uganda Airlines is welcoming representatives from Airbus and Boeing, which are pitching the Airbus A321neo and Boeing B737 to the airline. Currently, the airline is operating four Bombardier CRJ-900s (seating a maximum of 76 passengers) and two Airbus A330-800s (seating 261 passengers).
In December 2021, Scramble reported that the airline was looking at an aircraft of the size of the Airbus A220 and Embraer E195-E2 but the airline has since then moved up the size a bit to the A321neo/B737MAX.
