Universal Sky Carrier receives AOC
The German airline USC, Universal Sky Carrier, based in Frankfurt, has just received its AOC (Air Operator's Certificate). The airline was founded in 2020 and is based in Frankfurt. Now it has received the AOC, it will soon start operations for ad-hoc charter and ACMI with their first A340-313 D-AUSC (MSN 646).
This A340 was delivered to South African Airways as ZS-SXE in 2005 and finally withdrawn from use in March 2020. The airliner remained stored at Johannesburg, RSA until February 2023. It was then bought by USC and registered with the exotic registration T7-L340 and flown to Frankfurt-Hahn airport in Germany where it was reregistered as D-AUSC in April 2023.
USC is bound to welcome a second A340 airliner that is expected to become D-AUSZ. This airliner too was flown by SAA. As ZS-SNG, this A340-642 (MSN 557) was delivered in January 2004 and withdrawn from use and stored at Johannesburg in September 2021.
