UPS orders additional B767Fs
US parcel company UPS has placed on order for an additional nineteen Boeing 767-300 freighters. These new aircraft will be delivered between 2023 and 2025, according to Boeing. The order come just a few days before UPS will take delivery of the final 767-300 freighter it previously had on order.
UPS was the launch customer for the B767-300 freighter in 1995, and since then it has ordered a total of 91 of the aircraft (including this new 19 strong order). UPS also operates eight converted B767-300Fs. Besides the 767, UPS’ fleet consists of 52 A300-600Fs, 75 B757-200Fs, 42 MD-11Fs, 12 B747-400 Fs and 26 747-8 freighters (with two more on order, to be delivered Q1-2022).
Earlier this year, competitor FedEx, the largest operator and customer of the type, also ordered an additional twenty B767-300Fs with Boeing. Although the design of the aircraft is almost thirty years old, Boeing has orders for 64 aircraft in its books (38 FedEx, 20 UPS, one Air Tanzania, one China Central LongHao Airlines and four unannounced).
