Vietnam Airlines signs deal for B737MAX

On 11 September 2023, the White House announced during President Biden's visit to Vietnam, that Boeing has reached a deal with Vietnam Airlines for the B737MAX. According to the statements, the deal is for up to 50 MAXs and is to be finalized in the coming months.

The Vietnamese state media is reporting that Vietnam Airlines is planning to use the B737MAXs to replace older generation aircraft in the fleet, which today exists of 45 Airbus A321s, 20 A321neos, fourteen A350-900s, eleven B787-9s, and four B787-10s. Subsidiary Pacific Airlines is operating twelve A320s.
