Virgin Australia Regional plots Fokker 100-replacement

According to Flight Global, Virgin Australia Regional Airlines is planning to replace its final Fokker 100s with a new next generation jet. According to internal documents that the news-outlet has seen, the airline is considering the Airbus A220 and the Embraer E190-E2.

Currently, Virgin Australia Regional Airlines is still operating four Fokker 100s, which are, on average, almost 32 years old. They are outfitted in a single 100-seat configuration. In total, the airline has operated fourteen different Fokker 100s since it took delivery of its first one in 2013.

Next to the Fokker 100s, Virgin Australia Regional operates a fleet of seven Airbus A320s.
