Vista Global owned XO expands light jet fleet in the US
Vista Global’s Florida-based XOJET Aviation unit is expanding its fleet with the aqcuisition of Wisconsin based Red Wing Aviation.
Red Wing operates fifteen Cessna Citation Ultras, mainly on the US East Coast, and they have their own Citation Ultra level D simulator at Red Wing Airport (WI).
They will add to the 43 Citation Xs and Challenger 300s operated by XO, increasing its fleet by 30%. In the near future all Citations operated by XO (so including the Ultras) will be repainted in the XOJET colours: all grey with a large red and black “XO” logo on the tail.
It is the latest move in the race to chase market leader NetJets (who in June operated 750 aircraft, including NetJets Europe). Wheels Up, which currently has the second-largest for-hire fleet in the US, has acquired Delta Private Jets, Gama Aviation Signature, and TMC jets over the past eighteen months.
