Wanted: your favourite DC-3 photo!

On the occasion of the 86th birthday of the Douglas DC-3 on 17 December 2021, Scramble invites you to join the party. Please,  share your favourite photo of the world’s most iconic airplane with us and our readers. Only photos of min. 1600 pixels wide, taken by yourself and with your permission to publish on our website will be accepted. Any member of the DC-3 pedigree is allowed, e.g. DC-3, C-47, C-53, R4D, C-117 and even the BT-67. A jury of Scramble editors will judge the entries and make a selection that will be published on our new website. The three photographers of the highest valued photographs will receive a free one-year subscription to Scramble!

The DC-3 family saga began on 17 December 1935, when prototype X14988 (c/n 1494) made its first flight with pilot Carl A. Cover at the controls. It was registered as NC14988 as soon as its Certificate of Airworthiness was awarded. The airliner type was initially built as the DST (Douglas Sleeper Transport) but later evaluated into the well-known DC-3.
