American Airlines B777 makes emergency landing in Dallas

yesterday evening the B777 made an emergency landing shortly after take-off when one of its engines and its landing gear caught fire.
Plane landed safely, after dumping fuel in midair.
B777 was bound for Brazil.

FAA hasn't determined what caused the fire.

Of course, this would depend on the location of the emergency fuel vent relative to the source of fire... If I'm not mistaken the vent is mostly in/near the wingtips precisely so that the problem you mention can be avoided.
