CHICAGO (AP) -- United Airlines has unveiled additional new routes for the Boeing 787 once the plane is delivered.
The Chicago company said it will fly daily between Los Angeles and Narita, Japan beginning Jan. 3 and between Houston and Lagos Nigeria five days a week starting Jan. 7. It also plans to fly between Los Angeles and Shanghai, China beginning March 30.
The airline, which is operated by United Continental Holdings Inc., said it will also fly the 787 on routes from Houston to Amsterdam and London's Heathrow temporarily. Houston to Amsterdam is expected to begin Dec. 4 and Houston to London service is set to start Feb. 4.
It already serves those routes with other planes. These are in addition the previously announced 787 service between Denver and Tokyo Narita starting March 31.
It's not certain whether these will be the first 787 flights on a U.S. airline, because United could still add another route between now and then. The 787, which Boeing calls the Dreamliner, is set to be delivered to United next month. United will be the first U.S. airline to get it. The airline has 50 of them on order.
Now we only need a 787 Runway topic in the AMS forum and we are set i guess
