Transavia's first Airbus A321neo will arrive on Dutch soil on Thursday 7 December. This was confirmed by a spokesperson to Aviation News. The aircraft, with registration PH-YHZ, will be flown from the factory airport near Hamburg to Schiphol in the afternoon.
Over the next seven years, Transavia will replace the entire Boeing 737 fleet with Airbus A320neos and A321neos.
The A321neo can accommodate 232 passengers at Transavia. That's a lot more than in the Boeing 737-800, which has room for 189 passengers.
The intention is that the first aircraft will soon be used on Transavia flights to and from Schiphol. Another five aircraft are expected in 2024, which will also be based at Schiphol.
Air France-KLM has ordered a total of 100 A320neo family aircraft, which will be distributed between Transavia Netherlands, Transavia France and KLM.
