No flowers this spring

Post by Ergo01 »

Our first surprise was that the flower shop had disappeared and parking space was blocked with concrete blocks. A bit further there is a space for two, three cars. Luckily there was little spotters'interest on 27 and 28 th february.
There was a lot of police movement. Very kind people. Do always have an ID with you and be sure just to make pics of aircraft and no buildings. Than you'll be okay.

Hi Cristian,
There are some strange notes in your log.
Look here:
92-3291 was not seen on the 2nd, but departed on 01-03-08 as Reach298
95-0102 was not seen on the 2nd, but departed on 01-03-08 as Reach1819
95-0107 was not seen on the 2nd, but departed on 01-03-08 as Reach362
97-0046 was not seen on the 2nd. It departed on the 01-03-08 as Reach263
00-0173/AK was not arr but dep as Reach152 on the 2nd

So i think you mixed up some a/c with the 01st and the 02nd.

Cheers,
Eric

Log 08-03-2008. As you can see a lot of blanks. In the morning we climbed the Bismarck tower, but the view was bad because of the fog. In the afternoon readability was poor because of heatwaves. Maybe someone can fill in the blanks for us.

Hi,

I visited Ramstein between 14.30 and 15.00. I (yet) cannot give full details, because I don't have theme here. I will email them later tonight. However, from my head:
00454 was 1 of the C-5s. There was also a (visiting) herc on ramp 2 (the very latest a/c). No serial on that one. Perhaps the pope one?

Oscar

This morning, not less then 7(!) C-5s were on base. Besides 2 vising C-130s (enroute to the east) + 2 deltas + the pope C-130 (that now flies for 86th (but still in old markings)).

Oscar

No it not a J model it is an H model from the 145 AW / 156 AS North Carolina Air National Guard.

Which is probaly on TDY duty or just visiting the base.

Hi all,
I have read somewhere that the 86th is gonna switch
from the C-130E to the C-130J 's!
Can anyone confirm this, or is it just a rumor?

they will switch to C-130J's. They start somewhere in 2009 and in 2011 all C-130E's must be replaced. Source somewhere on the usafe site.
