Thai Airways International (TG) held a Board of Directors’ Meeting on April20th 2011, that approved Boeing for the aircraft conversion of the 2 B747-400 passenger planes into cargo freighters. Boeing will deliver the 2 converted aircraft to TG in March and April 2012. The Board approved the short-term lease of 2 B777-300ER aircraft from Jet Airways India (9W). The lease agreement will be valid for 2 years with the aircraft to be delivered in October and November 2011. The newly leased aircraft will be in service during the period when 2 B747-400 aircraft undergo conversion into freight aircraft, and when other passenger aircraft are undergoing cabin interior retrofitting.
