This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

Since you ask, I think you are trying to be creative in your photography. And that is a good thing!
1. Great shot! (Just some image compression troubles) Which program do you use to edit your shots?
2. Nice closeup, i would try and get the left engine on there as well
3. Standard F-16, maybe a bit dark.. What lens do you use?
4. some nice prop vrotex, bit dark again.. Try and overexpose 2/3 or 1 stop on these kind of shots..
5. Great shot, nice engine heat...!
6. Sharp shot, why did you choose to crop this much?
7. Nice and sharp!
8. Blurry, and you said it best!
9. Also blurry (a lot of your shots have some level of blurriness or end of lens capability issue..) but a good timed shot!
10. Great, sideway shot, Jetphoto or Airliners material!
11. Hoogerland will love this shot, avaition wise it is bagger
12. Snapshot, and not level, but its sharp...
What camera-gear did you use? If your gear permits, try to relax when pushing the shutter button, theres some level of unsharpness in some of your flying shots, can't really say if its the gear or the photographer. For instance, can you tell us how you set your camera for the F-16 shot (settingswise?)
I would say, carry on and show us some more stuff..
@ Jeroen,
First time shooting or posting? Your shots are pretty ok, a bit dark so try to get some more exposure in your settings next time, i think you will do fine then...
Start using f-stops like f/8 will increase the sharpness a lot!!dutchpilot22 wrote: Thank you verry much for your comments!
I begin with the firts thing; the camera-gear. My body is a Nikon D40x and with a 70-300mm VR lens
Second thing: I think its 50/50. I'm now 13 years old and I making something like 8/9 monds pics of airplanes, maybe I have not sow much experience. But my gear is also not the best (
if I'm honest I think this is one of my poor series, but that's what I think)
Third thing: Actually I do not have to put that picture on the Internet (the f-16), the better version can be found in other topic's. But the settings are 1/1250 sec f/5.6 ISO 200 (my body can't go lower than 200..)

Do you use a UV filter on that? If you do, take it off..!dutchpilot22 wrote: Thank you verry much for your comments!

Yeah, check your initial camera settings, do you use some servo focus setting? Get that active... Try and go down to 1/1000th with the same settings, that should get it more exposed. Or maybe try 1/500 and f.8 with the 200 ISO.. It will make your picture less soft... (Warning, only in the same weather conditions as your picture of the F-16 above.. Otherwise you have to use other settings!dutchpilot22 wrote: Third thing: Actually I do not have to put that picture on the Internet (the f-16), the better version can be found in other topic's. Thanks for all the tips! I have pictures posted in the topic 07.11.2011 (EHAM). Maybe you can view them. And compare them with these pictures? I think that is 10 times better than these pictures .. (ow and I didn't use a UV filter)Andras wrote:Do you use a UV filter on that? If you do, take it off..!dutchpilot22 wrote: Thank you verry much for your comments!

Just try and tweak your settings a bit and watch your "panning movement for smooth shutter release"... Your gear should be capable to produce sharper shots.
Succes!
