Caribbean Airlines Runway Overrun

Post by flying_kiwi »

A Caribbean Airlines B738 has gone off the end of the runway while landing in Georgetown, Guyana.
Thankfully only minor injuries reported, but it looks like the plane will be written off. Aircraft involved is most likely 9Y-JMD which was delivered to the airline in April.

It's not the 9Y-JMD that one is in Air Jamaica colours and the crashed one is in Caribean colours.

There is a small text "air jamaica" on the fuselage ;)
9Y-PBM must be the bird

Initial reports stated that the aircraft had been delivered in April and was leased from Macquarie Airfinance (which matched the JMD).
Ignoring the usual Daily Mail sensationalism, there are some pretty good daylight photos to be found here.
