attack on Tripoli airport: aircraft wrecked

Post by frank kramer »

Apparently, fighting in Tripoli has shifted to the airport.

In CNN-footage, a burnt-out Afriqiah Airbus (being A300-620 5A-IAY, as "AY" is visible on the top of the tail) can be seen, as well as a burning aircraft (being A300 5A-DLZ) in Libyan Al c/s.

TS-IAY = Afriqiyah A300 (tail remaining)
5A-DLZ = Libyan Airlines A300 (on fire at recording)

5A-ONE (340-200) is seen on the ramp with 5A-ONH (A330-200, behind -DLZ), 5A-DLY (A300, LAA) is also seen, 5A-DMG/H is the Buraq 737-800 and two A319's en two A320's from Afriqiyah are standing on the apron with 5A-DKN as AN-124 of Libyan Air Cargo. Sistership 5A-DKL is still stored at the Ukrain.

Kind regards,

H.

TS-IAY was reregistered as 5A-IAY in 2007; apparently, it is -or rather, WAS- the personal plane of one of Khaddafi's sons...

 ,indeed typo ... The believed / captured Lockerbie person was also flown towards Libya on this A300.

The family of Khaddafi also used Falcon 900's, BD5000's and a CL850 however the where about of these planes is unknown at the moment.
