Late Friday afternoon the helicopter hangar was still fully open, offering lots of extra helicopters (only 2 were outside around 6 pm). A visit on the next Saturday morning added two extra Orions on the platform...not bad... On this morning no helicopters were outside and the hangar only open for a small part (de deur stond op een kier - vertaal dat maar eens in het Engels).
Please note those three SH-60s that are stored behind the P-3 hangar. They can, indeed, be seen from the second floor of the museum - however the serials do not match with the scramble database! From the museum only one serial could be read (well the last two), because the helicopters block each other out). The second one could be read from the mountain south of the air base (on this hill the preserved aircraft had disappeared!).
If anyone can confirm those three Seahawks that would be great. Perhaps the open house will reveal them?
