Skyways (JZ) and City Airline (CF) are bankrupt!

Post by E-R-I-C »

Just rcvd this email from CH Aviation:

Skyways (JZ, Stockholm Arlanda (ARN)) and its sister carrier City Airline (CF, Gothenburg Landvetter (GOT)) have filed for bankruptcy and suspended operations on May 22. Both carriers were owned by Mansvell Enterprises controlled by Ukrainian business man Igor Kolomoyskyi just like Cimber Sterling (QI, Sønderborg (SGD)) which had been forced to file for bankruptcy at the beginning of the month. Skyways had used 11 Fokker 50s operated by Avia Express (Stockholm Arlanda (ARN)) mainly on domestic routes in Sweden and international routes to Denmark and Norway. City Airline operated 6 ERJ-145s and 2 ERJ-135s from Gothenburg Landvetter (GOT) to Luleå Kallax (LLA), Lyon St. Exupéry (LYS), Manchester Ringway International (MAN), Prague Ruzyne (PRG) and Zurich Kloten (ZRH).

Assume the owner is bankrupt, not the airline ;)

Wonders what will happen to Aerosvit, which he also owns.

Sources are reporting Aerosvit's newest 737-800, UR-AAO, in "temporary storage" at Boeing Field for at least three weeks.
