Hi,

A regular recurring question is "how can I also get this or that image under my name next to every post I do?"

To start with, those images are called "avatars" (don't ask me why though :-) ).

For various reasons we don't allow uploading of those avatars by the users of this board.

Therefore we have the following set of guidelines for those avatars.
Those were already mentioned on several other places on this board before, so they may be familiar 8-)
  1. The avatar may not contain pornographic, racist or other non-decent images.
  2. Of course the image must be yours, or at least free of any copyright.
  3. The image must technically comply with the next demands;
    • Width no more than 80 pixels and height no more than 120 pixels.
    • Size of the file not exceeding 8 kb
    • The image must be in GIF or JPG format.
  4. Then you mail the image to me ( webmaint@scramble.nl ).
  5. And then you can choose your avatar going to your profile.
  6. When your avatar is in this gallery, remember it is technically "free to use" to all other users. If this happens, the only thing you can do is ask nicely to choose another avatar. The Admin team wil not, ever, take actions on your behalf!!

All,

Changed the "rules" above a little bit, namely number 3; as already stated those avatars are not very high on my priority list, this got only demoted every time I received an image of 3000+ pixels wide (and several MB large).

So when they are cut-and-dried when you mail them to me, this will only speed up things a bit :-)

Regards,

Hans
