Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, a leading global provider of outsourced aircraft and aviation operating solutions, confirmed the placement of their 8th B747-8 Freighter into ACMI service. The aircraft will fly on behalf of Etihad Cargo, the cargo arm of Etihad Airways (EY), the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, pursuant to a multiyear Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance agreement that commences in May 2013. The new contract between the companies follows a letter of intent announced on April01st 2013, and complements an existing B747-400F ACMI arrangement between Atlas and EY signed in May 2012. The aircraft will be operated in full EY Cargo livery. The delivery will take EY Cargo’s freighter fleet to 9 aircraft. From June, the airline will also operate 3 B777F, 1 B747-400ERF, 1 B747-400F and 3 A330-200F.
