Ben Gurion Intl Airport (LLBG) (MIL) 2017

Post by Starman »

Huh! First post of 2017? Must have forgotten to mention the "star" visitor, an AMI Piaggio P180. Never mind.

Anyway, a local exercise has meant numerous 67SOS flights and currently on ground are MC-130Js 25759, 25760 & 35786. Grey.

SECDEF has just left in E-4B 50125, He was accompanied by 437AW C-17A 88190. Interestingly OTT on J10 westbound (per ADSB) just as he took off was 20006, an E-3C Sentry. Don't see many of those down my way! There have been a few more C-17s buzzing around, probably connected with SECDEF, or maybe ahead of the expected arrival on Sunday of the next three F-35As for the IAF.

A herd of Moose this morning heralded the start of the POTUS party, three from Ramstein with UH-60s 20041, 20050, 20081 (last three in white) and 20647. The last C-17 was 62AW 21109 who brought 20208 & 20056 (white). From Fargo arrived another C-17A with two VH-60N Whitehawks 165260 and 263. The other C-17s included 88193 62AW and 00175 from the 305AMW McGuire. I missed the first one, sorry.

Amazingly, 60th AW 66157 has just landed, unannounced, so probably a "local" flight. Next "new" one should be from Mildenhall around 02.40.
Can any of our Jordanian or Saudi readers fill the gaps for their countries POTUS visitors this weekend?

Thanks Closedloop, that´s the problem with not being on duty 24/7! My mistake. Anyway, arriving over the weekend was at least one more Whitehawk but their area has been sanitised so the serial will have to wait. C-130J 43142/RS has also appeared.
Four local S-70s from 124 sqn are on the ramp for escort duties, 511, 522, 562 & 834 (plus one of the "splinternieuw" Police Eurocopters, with their latest, 4X-BMN c/n 8123 at the "goods inwards" ramp).

No UH/HH-60s were shipped to Jordan or Saudi Arabia from Ramstein, apparently. There are US Army assets in Kuwait, etc that may have been involved in in supporting the Trump Saudi visit.

For the VIP escort yesterday to Jerusalem 124 sqn IAF provided 5 S-70s, 515 & 856 were changes from Sunday. The third VH-60N "Whitehawk" was 163262. All 3 should be leaving on C-17s as we speak, 21098 came in yesterday afternoon and departed on other business but 66168 Dover plus 77183 & 77188 Charleston may be involved.
The Blackhawks are due out Thursday, 4 back to Romania on a C-5 and two presumably back to ETAR, as per the inbounds.
Some c/ns are 703048/20050, 703120/07-20081 and 703406/20208.

A question for any numerologists out there: At Marana are the next two Air Force 1s, a pair of white tail B747-800s. Known for his modesty and dislike of shiny new things, president Trump is unlikely to sanction their conversion during his first term, so we are looking at maybe Fiscal Years around 2021-2023. As the two current VC-25s are 28000 and 29000 (reportedly 82-8000 and 92-9000) currently parked up at LLBG and featuring, on 29000 (AF2 this trip) the two new SATCOM humps, what do you think will be the "shadow" serials of 30000 and 31000?
