For the second year in a row the Classic Air Rally was
organized at Rockcliffe, home of the Canadian Aviation Museum
in Ottawa. Plagued by bad weather on Saturday, almost
half of the performers listed on the website did not show up,
making the fifteen Dollar event fairly overpriced. A visit to the
excellent museum was included, although entrance fees for
the latter are normally only six Dollars. Views from outside the
fence are quite good at Rockcliffe and many people decided to
avoid paying the fee. Vintage Wings of Canada from nearby
Gatineau (Que.) provided many of the aircraft present.
Hopefully the rally will survive, as frequent free admission
open houses are organized by Vintage Wings of Canada right
across the river...
