On 5 May, MCAS Iwakuni opened the gates for the 43th annual Friendship Day, the fifth Friendship Day in cooperation withthe JMSDF. This year about 165.000 people visited the base to see the flying and static displays. Unfortunately the Blue Impulse had to cancel this year. But a good replacement was found in the C-17 solo demo from Hawaii. The F-18 solo demo was flown by a crew from VFA-106.
