Two F-16's made their last flight this month leaving 45 remaining operational airframes. The J-871 flew its last operational mission from Volkel on October 1st. Dual J-882 was ferried from Woensdrecht to Volkel on October 12th and withdrawn from use.

The J-005 and J-516 returned from maintenance while the J-011, J-020, J-055 and J-146 went in maintenance.

The J-005 returned from Portugal with a fresh paint job without markings, while the J-004 and J-019 have received full colour Tucson tailbands.

The painters on Volkel have been quite busy this month applying 312sq badges. In addition the J-197 received a tail commemorating the 70th anniversary of 312sq.

The last operational F-16 with 323sq badge, J-144, received also a 312sq badge which ended a period of operational F-16's with 323sq badges lasting for almost 40 years. Another 6 ex Leeuwarden operational F-16's still wear their 322sq badge and Frisian tailband.
