Updates and articles not available?
Correction: they are!
Still.... How do we see updates in this section?
We have to guess?

Re: Online Scramble subscription
It might probably take some time to process the order. I also do not see any updates at the moment.

You should be able to see content under the tab "Updates & Articles".wamovements wrote: ↑09 Jan 2022, 16:48 It might probably take some time to process the order. I also do not see any updates at the moment.

Re: Preview of Scramble online!
Having tried to 'read' the latest Scramble online, I must admit that it's more cumbersome than I hoped for. Publishing the pages in a (single) readable pdf-format (as many other online publications) would certainly bring back the joy I had with the paper version, and would make it much easier to store the content for later use (saving it via Chrome to pdf really now messes up the layout). Hope my comment is seen as positive feedback to keep up the good work by all of you.

Re: Preview of Scramble online!
Same here. Printing? How? Reading updates? It's a really long list, and not possible to skip to the next country of region.
But what I really miss is the possibility to see what's new.
At messageboard you can simply see what's new, what's popular, and so on.
Can we expect to have features like this included?
Because now for people reading" things" mobile, like most of us.... It's not yet a pleasure to me.
Hope it will work out in the end!

Re: Preview of Scramble online!
Hi all, short feedback in co-ordination with the board.
@Pelican34: We need to find a site-wide print/output plugin that exports to pdf. This is on the to-do list and should considerably enhance the expierence. At this point I have no indication how long it will take, but I certainly hope not too long!
@Alpha Kilo One: Updates & Articles have not been set up with mobile phones as the primary device to read them in mind. It's possible, but that's about it. As these are the continuation of Scramble magazine online, at least a tablet is recommended to read them.
Likewise, none of the new sections are meant to be similar to a forum. The news is published, and stays, in chronological order like on most news sites. Updates & Articles are listed by date. The remark on printing/exporting is at least as valid here.
Hope this helps to clarify things,
Erik
P.S.: Personal note, I find the overall 'pleasantness to the eye' suboptimal as well. There may be tweaking of that in the near future, of course.

Re: Preview of Scramble online!
HI
I have to agree with Pelican34 that making the various pages into one PDF file for a monthly magazine is a nightmare. I tried various ways and basically had to copy photos and text into Word and played around with page sizes until I got something that looked like the PDF Scramble that were on Pocketmags. I then merged the Word files into a PDF which at least looks like something like the old magazine, but it is very time consuming. Surely, if the files were put in to PDF format for Pocketmags, then it must be possible to make a monthly downloadable magazine which is not too large? Other groups have done it, so surely Scramble can.

Re: Preview of Scramble online!
I can't access the whole thing at all. My subscription was extended only in September 2021 and I agreed to convert it to a digital one. But now I can't access the articles and update section. I could access the 'preview pages' a few weeks ago and was already was a bit concerned, but this is going nowhere for me. And this after more than 20 years of being a member and contributor. Not happy at all !
Re: Scramble Online live!
Can you then please convert my subscription into a digital one. I only extended mine in September 2021, I'm not really planning to pay again for the new digital one.Jaap wrote: ↑09 Jan 2022, 19:52See Scramble 510: All subscribers were invited to change the paper subscription to a subscription to the online version (opt in).

Re: Preview of Scramble online!
@139Driver: Steve, good to 'hear' from you, even if the subject makes you less happy.
We concluded, already with regard to the preview, that we lack a decent export function. This is something I personally feel needs to be realized, and that opinion is shared by others at Scramble. Whether that will suffice to put together your own 'legacy magazine' remains to be seen but the least we need is the ability to print one section, arcticle or airfield guide a time to pdf or paper.
Formatting for Pocketmags is no option, unfortunately. As said before, it would mean creating nearly all the layout that was needed for the printed mag. Technically this is possible of course, but it's not feasable for us as a bunch of volunteers (of which a very small part actually produces the end product from the input by all editors).
Sorry I can't bring better news, it really all is an outcome of the ever declining number of subscribers to the mag as we knew it.
@Laurent: Please contact subscribe@scramble.nl about this, if you have not already.
