Re: Imperial 31/1/22 and 1/2/22
Very interesting. 4-5 years ago, before any Ospreys came to North Island, the Navy held a public Q & A session to talk about the impact of the (then) forthcoming Osprey operations. I asked if Ospreys would be training at OLF Ream, and the answer then was no, because Ream was fully booked with H-60 operations. Guess they have changed their minds, or else the Marines just crashed the party.

Different Imperial. This one is located just above the city of El Centro.
1099 Airport Rd, Imperial, CA 92251, Verenigde Staten
Great place to see some of the choppers refuel if you are lucky.

It does seem to get a lot of military traffic, mostly USN and USMC rotary machines for rotors running refuels.

There was a CMV-22B from North Island but it went to Yuma, did an approach, then to El Centro for pattern work. I was told that one was booked in to Imperial for a refuel, but it didn't go there.SBGrad wrote: ↑08 Feb 2022, 21:29 Very interesting. 4-5 years ago, before any Ospreys came to North Island, the Navy held a public Q & A session to talk about the impact of the (then) forthcoming Osprey operations. D'oh!!! I saw "Imperial' didn't see any ICAO, saw the aircraft looked plausible for Ream, and jumped in with both feet. My bad. I've been to El Centro dozens of times, seen the helos lurking on the horizon, but I've never gone over there.747woody wrote: ↑08 Feb 2022, 22:03That's the one.Lordofthedragons wrote: ↑08 Feb 2022, 21:40 Different Imperial.
