Dutch F-16s delivery to Bulgarian AF imminent

Post by Piet Luijken »

Hello,

According De Telegraaf our 12 surplus F-16s are not going to Draken Intl, despite the contract, but to a East European country. This way, their MiG-29s and Su-25s can be transferred to Ukraine! Deduction says it will be Bulgaria which is awaiting delivery of their F-16Vs.

The 10 F-16s from Tucson, now in Florida, will be flown to Charleroi/SABCA for maintenance, probably very soon, before transfer to Bulgaria.

Actually, there were 11 KLu F-16s at Tucson in the final months, as J-882 joined the 148th FS early in 2022. It actually flew training mission from there in May-July.

F-16B J-368 was supposed to be number 12 for Draken.
