This one is not in the overview, so it must have been stored at Volkel at some kind of flying status. Are there more at Volkel like the above and can they also be included in the overview please? Similar like the Charleroi/SABCA stored ones?

Sjoerd I would like to add the airframes which are wfu in flyable condition at Volkel but I do not know which airframes comply with this status.

I have no objection including any wfu airframes that are on base apart from the preserved/GIA ones.
And others here maybe able to help confirm the status.

Thanks for all the input.

The last F-16 leaving LCW after maintenance with regi J-515 was already without its special tail when it arrived at Volkel from Woensdrecht.

The J-011 is the last operational F-16 to receive 312sq squadron badge, all 24 Bonzo airframes have now some sort of 312sq markings.

ImageJ-011 by Joe Peartree, on Flickr

With the J-011, 013 and 015 flying in April all 312sq F-16's have been airborne this year.

SABCA received another wfu F-16 this month making a total of 16 airframes which are receiving maintenance at the Belgian airport. Latest arrival J-201 had lost its 312sq markings but still kept its previous 322sq badge when it departed Volkel. This leaves 2 wfu airframes in flying condition at Volkel which are now also listed below.

Regular maintenance is also continuing at Charleroi with J-060 arriving while the J-015 and J-367 came back from Belgium.

...well, no surprises there... :|

Netherlands likely to provide Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets

May 26, 2023 3:09 PM

The Netherlands will likely send an unspecified number of its 42 F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine,
Bloomberg reported on May 26
with reference to its unnamed sources.

This transfer should follow the training of Ukrainian pilots, according to the report.

On the same day, Ukraine's Defense Ministry tweeted it requires four squadrons of F-16s
– 48 planes in total – to liberate its territory from Russia.

According to Bloomberg, 24 Dutch fighters are currently in use by the country's military
and cannot be sent to Ukraine until mid-2024.

The U.K. and the Netherlands agreed on May 17 to build an international coalition to provide F-16s to Ukraine.

On May 20, the U.S. also declared that it would join the initiative, as did Portugal, Denmark, and Belgium.

Reports appeared on May 20 that the Netherlands :!: canceled :!: the sale of its F-16s to the private company Draken International.

This sparked speculation that Amsterdam plans to reroute the planes to Ukraine’s military instead.

As two seaters are required for the pilot training that is intended to start soon, the question is whether the SABCA stored birds will be brought back to operational status. The 24 Volkel single seaters are not suitable for the pilot training. Next question would be where the training will take place.

...indeed, a lot of questions about the reality of
training/converting Ukrainian fighter pilots
to western F-16s.

As the training initiative is handled by Denmark and Netherlands, don’t rule out the use of Danish twintubs…
