Not really. If last week is anything to go by, they start flying before 09.00 and keep flying till late afternoon or later when necessary. They don't really fly in recognisable waves either. The C-130's tend to fly as single ships or pairs to a lot of different destinations. Sometimes, they are away for just a few hours, and sometimes they leave early morning and don't return till late afternoon. On occasion, they do a formation with one or more A400's and the Romanian C-27. Also, the A400's come and go as per their own planning; that does not necessarily have anything to do with Air Defender, they also fly regular transport missions for the Bundeswehr or EATC.
As an example, last wednesday I arrived around 08.45 to find that 3 C-130's had already left; by 10.30, 8 had departed. They had all arrived back by 16.30, with the exception of the one that was stranded at Hohn earlier. That returned around 17.30.

Agree. And usually a quite (& quiet !) long lunch break as the fighters start their afternoon missions pretty late (which makes for - light-wise - interesting (challenging when you're in the wrong spot) photos)..

Just go and have fun, it will all become clear when you're there. :-)

Let's just say we endorse everyone to read through all the AD23 (general and airfield) topics to obtain a better picture, Bart.

Very intersting, thanks for logging these. Is the Sycamore inside? Unfortunately the museum was closed when we were there, but I noticed some of the (outside) inmates had moved since I was last here. Didn't see the An-2 nose.
