Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

Soesterberg Nationaal Militair Museum
On 30 June the National Military Museum at former airbase Soesterberg was the host for the celebration of 110 years of Dutch Military Aviation, 70 years of Royal Netherlands Air Force and 75 years of Royal Netherlands Society Our Airforce.
In preparation of the annual Depot days the museum had more aircraft displayed in the open than normal. Also the depots were open to the public. A small scale fly-past took place as well.
F-16's J-197 and J-514 and F-35's F-012 and F-033 during a one-time pass:
Apache Q-29 was on display and left in the afternoon for its home base Gilze-Rijen
Outdoor display area:
Some images from the depot. Not a lot of space to work with:
I hope you like the selection.

Some nice shots indeed. But these concrete blocks on most outdoor items are rather annoying. These weren't used during earlier outings luckily.
Cheers,

This is the reason according to the NMM website:

Thanks, although I don't really get the reasoning to be honest

SOESTERBERG
It used to be the other way around: then an aircraft in the air attracted the most interest,
now it is an aircraft over the road.
Airplane spotters in particular are there when an aircraft is moved over the road again.

Like this morning when a Convair F-102 Delta Dagger was transferred from the former Soesterberg airbase to Heerenveen on a low loader.
There the device is repaired at the company Smart Constructions.
