Hi All,
I am passing through Kuantan Malaysia on the way to one of the islands off the coast, and was wondering if anyone has experience of spotting at the airfield/terminal.
I would be there on a Wednesday afternoon, Thursday morning, so I guess my best shot would be the morning.
I am currently in the process of joining Scramble, but I havent currently got sight of the airfield plan, but might have by the time I go ?
Any help would be useful
Kind regards
Steve

Re: Kuantan, Malaysia
Have spotted MiG29s here a loooooong time ago from the approach area. Because everything is hiding under sunsheds and temps are usually very high here, not many assets on the ground are readable from the fence (near the terminal).passat man wrote: ↑26 Aug 2023, 06:13 Hi All,

I kept a low profile and even took a few landing shots away from the fence and away from locals.
Good luck!

Hi Ben,
Thanks for your reply I had guessed that heat haze might be a problem, as its currently around 35 degrees here at the moment. Was surprised to hear there were local spotters there but as its a training base now, maybe they are relaxed. Did see quite a few spotters around butterworth around the lima airshow time, In the press, maybe too hot for the MPs
