Subang MIL + CIV 18 april 2024

Post by LifelinerOne »

Hi everybody,

when visiting Kuala Lumpur, I also decided to drive to Subang. Whilst not the busiest airport, it is still a very nice airport for some quality aircraft. The field is jointly civil and military, so if you like both you can have a nice day. The airport is busiest early in the morning and in the late afternoon. Between that, it can be very quiet.

I visited from 09:00 to 13:00, after which a massive thunderstorm and lots of rain ended my party. Anyway, here's an impression of a very enjoyable morning.

1. Subang is the main base of Firefly with its colorful ATR72s:

3. The spot I stood at was very close to the taxiway as this TUDM A400M M54-03 shows:

4. C-130H-30 M30-14 departing runway 33:

5. Subang is also housing a few Police aircraft like this Beech 350 9M-PTA:

6. Cessna 208 9M-PSO:

8. And AS355 9M-PHB:

9. The Maritim Malaysia unit also has aircraft and helicopters based. One of them is a CL-415 which flew but never came close to my lense to get a shot without crazy heatwaves. This AS365 M70-02 did better:

10. Definitely one of my highlights was this Bomba Mi-17 M994-01:

11. Also nice to catch this Falcon 900 M37-01:

12. This AW139 M104-01 dropped-in during lunch-time:

13. While this KC-130 M30-08 departed shortly after that. It drooped significantly to the left by the way:

Nice set! At that time I was few hundred miles away up north :) I'll work on my shots this week.
