L-410 becomes too heavy to lift

Krasavia plans to stop using them by 2026

Krasavia plans to stop using 19-seat Czech L-410 aircraft no later than 2025.

The Krasnoyarsk airline cited the lack of components and equipment due to anti-Russian sanctions as the reason for this decision.

Earlier, the authorities of the Altai Republic approached the airline with a proposal to begin intraregional flights on the L-410.

However, the carrier refused to cooperate,
explaining this by the impending withdrawal of this type of vessel from active operation.

The decision to abandon the use of L-410 was also made in a number of other regions.

For Krasavia, 2025 will be the last year of operation of L-410 type aircraft.

Krasavia added that it currently has four L-410s in its fleet,
“but one is participating in the flight program, since the engines on the others do not comply with maintenance regulations.”

Krasavia is not the first airline that has recently been forced to withdraw the L-410 from its fleet.

As Kommersant wrote, at the beginning of 2023, flights on the L-410 were stopped
in the Komi Republic, and in the fall - in the Kamchatka Territory.

Sanctions and a shortage of spare parts were also cited as reasons for the refusal to operate aircraft.

Rusavia (Republic of Bashkortostan) previously had two L-410 aircraft and abandoned their use several years ago for the same reasons.

“The L-410 was made at the Ural Civil Aviation Plant in Yekaterinburg,
but it was a screwdriver assembly - they brought it from the Czech Republic,
they assembled it here, but now this is no longer the case,
” Dmitry Toropov, general director of the airline, told Kommersant-Sibir.
