Dakar-Leopold Sedar Senghor (DKR/GOOY) 2023

Post by PH-AVR »

This downtown airport should not be confused with Dakar-Blaise Diagne (DSS/GOBD) that is used for normal passenger traffic and is an hour drive east from downtown. The downtown Dakar-Leopold Sedar Senghor (a.k.a. Yoff) is only used by the president, his VIP guests and the Senegal Air Force. Flying traffic can be seen from various parts of downtown but one can also see into the airport from the monument of African renaissance so worth to climb the stairs to the feet of the monument. It is about 3 km away from the airport as the crow flies. Various can be read from photos with decent zoom lens as you can see from the photos. The 2 bizjets were presumed given cs and flightaware data.

The SA316 is the 6V-AIB

The ATR42 is most likely the 6V-AFW c/n 117

Thanks a lot Michiel, much appreciated. The ATR seems not to have the big titles which I see on various other photos on the internet unless they were taken off recently.
cheers
