F-15E EPAWSS
On January 17, 2025, the United States Air Force reached a major milestone by delivering the first F-15E Strike Eagle equipped with the innovative Eagle Passive Active Warning and Survivability System (EPAWSS).
This upgrade positions the F-15E as one of the most advanced electronic warfare (EW) aircraft, increasing safety and operational effectiveness in modern combat scenarios.
The first upgraded aircraft took off from San Antonio, Texas, and flew to its new base at RAF Lakenheath in the United Kingdom, where it will join the 48th Fighter Wing (FW), also known as the “Liberty Wing.”
The EPAWSS system was developed by BAE Systems, which manufactures the components in Nashua, New Hampshire. Boeing, the manufacturer of the F-15E and its modernized version, the F-15EX Eagle II, integrates the EPAWSS at its facilities in San Antonio, Texas.

Re: F-15E EPAWSS
It should be very interesting to follow the F-15E EPAWSS and the JAS-39E in the future. To nail their electronic equipment and the future evolution.

Re: F-15E EPAWSS
The upgraded F-15Es have been assigned to RAF Lakenheath's F-15E fighter squadrons, with one going to the 494th Fighter Squadron and the other to the 492nd FS ensuring both units benefit and train with the F-15E's enhanced capabilities.

Re: F-15E EPAWSS
Pentagon and Air Force officials in recent years have urged more investment in test ranges to reflect a more dense and up-to-date simulation of the electronic warfare, radar, and other electromagnetic threats combat aircraft are likely to face. The full capability of EPAWSS “is unknown in modern combat environments,” the DOT&E report said, because “test capability is lacking.”
The Air Force has also said it is restricting some exercise and test activities to live, virtual and constructive environments and the Joint Simulation Environment, because open-air activities could be observed by adversaries.
Why not cooperate with the Saab JAS-39E testing.
The limitation with EPAWSS limitations also connecting with F-22 and F-35. They not even has this ability or equipment?

Re: F-15E EPAWSS
Assuming authorization at DP 2, the Air Force plans to start retrofitting 217 F-15Es and equipping all F-15EXs
as they are produced (144 planned). The first operational unit will receive EPAWSS-equipped aircraft in late
CY23.
The Air Force intends to start fielding EPAWSS on F-15E aircraft in FY23 and F-15EX aircraft in FY24.

Saudi Arabia have 84 F-15SA underway. They have the EPAWSS equipment.
See new pictures on Waddington air base.

There can some of the sensors in the EPAWSS system be visible.
Saudi Arabia have bought the latest missiles example of HARM-88.
