Poland 11 feb. 2025: air space breached by Russian SU-24MR fast jet

One source claims RF-33778 Su-24MR 30 white are the aircraft who intruded Poland recently.

It is following aircraft earlier or maybe today based at Novofedorovka (Saki) surprisingly 2021 from Crimea.

The aircraft used an old sigint equipment to identify used enemy radars.

The Su-24MR came from the Kaliningrad Chernyakovsk air base and the unit were. The aircraft was 2021 based at Crimea Novofedorovka. Earlier have aircraft rotated between Chernyakovsk and Novofedorovka (Saki).

Aircraft have certainly rotated between the bases during the Ukrainan war.

The Su-24MR may have been equipped with an SRS-14 “Tangazh” electronic intelligence pod, a system used to detect and locate radar emissions. Its mission is to open radar stations in Poland and look at their signals.

If someone new if the SRS-14 Tangazh have been improved is it interesting.

The manufacturers number appears to miss the the first two digits as 416 depicting the factory (153 being the other possibility) should be in the middle i.e. xx41607.

I only use the last 5 digits as mostly for the russian aircraft because were is so much mismatch and wrong spelling about the numbers. Mostly I avoid to use the production number.

For me is Su-30MR 30 white used as I knew at first in East Germany Weslow air base with 30 ORAP during the 1980s.

Just 30 white is pictured in my link given before with open panels for radar and other places on the plane.

In Scramble I want to see more pictures of planes with different open panels. Not only aircraft in flight, but also with workshop pictures with open panels etc.

And more discussions of different main equipment.

No, that is not the same aircraft!
The 30 white with 11 ORAP at Welzow was 0615316.

I should controlled my own notes. But this was before the RF- numbering time.

I understand but in this case it doesn’t make sense to only use the last five digits as they are meaningless. As I said, the first two digit of the seven digit number depict the production batch, digits 3,4 and 5 the production plant (either 153 or 416) and the last two the position within the batch. If you try to avoid using the manufacturers number it is better to use 01-01 for 0115301 (which doesn’t make any sense either as it could be either 0115301 or 0141601.

Were is another way for the aircraft production number. It build on hexgonal numbers, and you recount the production number in some way. I have knew these earlier, but I left because became to many faults.

The system was described in old Air Force Magazine. I believed the autor was Chris Peacock. He could the system on his five fingers.

The production number was in some way replaced by the RF- number.

The last five number is in some way possible to use.

The first two is the serial number.
The third have I in the last not used.
And the last two (four and five) is the number in the serial.

The Su-24MR use SPS-161/162 Geran-F (Geranium) radar sigint system,

Something like F-15E EPAWS, F-15EX and Saab JAS-39E Gripen.
