The one I always think about in this context is 15aug80:

2 Hahn Phantoms, two NF-5Bs, a Marine F-104G, eight CF-104s of which one D model (these were on deployment and there were some changes over the week), a CT-133 and CC-130 to accompany them, an SP-13A on training and of course the Eagles (and Friend/Troopships and Alouettes)........

I don't remember the exact date anymore of the ANG A-7's but the normal spotterplace was already closed. This one was taken behind the BP gas station so I guess it was around 1991-1992.

Here some more:

Any way....... those times have past...... but not forgotten

ps who has the slides now?
A close call with me ....... a photofinish was necesary to prove the outcome

The slides are now with Marcel Frenk, but I have to say I haven't seen them for almost 10 years now....... In April 2007 I celebrate my 25th anniversary as spotter....... I started back in 1982 as a serious spotter (which means in my case writting down the serial numbers).

Cheers Roel....... great pictures you have.

Good times, yeah... But please remember: we're getting awfully close to the point where we're discussing Nostalgia instead of sharing photos. If that continues to be the case we may need to move this thread to that forum. Oh, and please, while we're here in the Photo Forum: English is the preferred (no, not preferred: obligatory) language.

If everybody on the forum likes this discussion why would you stop it? If it was up to me, we would have a Leeuwarden, Gilze, Ramstein, Bitburg, etc in the eighties topic in this section as well.

It was during the weekend of the Klu Open House at Twenthe. Unfortunately I wasn't able to go there, so I paid a visit to the MLM and guess what: That saterday another A-7D and a A-7K arrived as the 962 came in on the Firday with problems and was parked inside the 334Sqn hangar. So I had a much more than great day as the Twenthe Open House was for a lot of people a big disappointment.

 If I´m not mistaking I did saw one or two photo´s come by in this thread. But it could be my mistake.

The C-130E is just a regular USAF MAC aircraft and were based at Ramstein and Mildenhall. They painted some aircraft in these colors for operations in the Middle East (Iran) but these Hercs also flew around Europe on a regular basis.
