The fighterversion of the Draken were modified with a "Weapons Delivery & Navigation System (WDNS)" upgrade program. This included a Marconi Series 900 head-up display, a Lear-Siegler nav-attack computer, and a Ferranti laser rangefinder & marked target seeker (LRMTS). This LRMTS was housed in a nose cone similar to that of the recce versions, exept for the windows on the side. If I remember correctly, some of the twoseaters were modifiede in a similar way.Huh? A jakt-Draken with a recce-nose?
Absence of the camera windows on the side is the mail identification feature in this case
Hope this helps...
Ah, thanks for clearing that up Andries.
Do you know if all attack-Drakens received these modifications? As far as I can remember most or all of the ones I've seen myself used to have the "round" nose (and I've seen quite a few of these Drakens in those days). I guess either not all have been converted or my memory isn't serving me correct anymore (which is entirely possible 15+ years after the fact)

Dutch F-16's at EHTW
I got inspired by seeing all those pictures of Twenthe! I started to scan my F-16 slides which I took at Twenthe in the 90's. Some visitors will follow later.....
Thanks Rogier and others for posting nice shots taken at the beautiful Twenthe A.B.
Here are some new pictures from the Virtual-Twenthe team.
