Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

Is this the new Hercules for the RNLAF or the "Spare Parts" hercules?

one of the two, the other is G-781, which can be partially seen beside the nose of the G-988.
The 'third' one is still owned by Derco Aerospace and Derco and Marshall are negociating the transportation of this aircraft to the UK. But this depends on finding a potential customer for it.
Do'nt be surprised if it finally also goes to the Netherlands, when the MoD finds new funds. But, as said, the third Herc is still owned by Derco and will not come to the RNLAF unless new financial sources are found

True, true, at the moment there is NO spare parts Herc for the Dutch AF.

Now I see this picture of the G-988 I'm thinking why we didn't just bought new airframes? It's totally stripped of and it seems all the systems will be replaced by brand new ones... Is this really much more cost effective?

(pherhaps this is something to discuss somewhere else :wink: )

Well operating both C-130J's and C-130H's is probably more expensive than just H-models (even if we have to resurrect them from the dead).

I'm pretty sure the KLu made some sort of business case before they purchased them...

Simply they don't build any C-130H anymore just C-130J which are totally different. Although I believe our C-130H are amongst the most modern in the world.

Does this mean that there is still a need for some 10 (!) C-130's which were mentioned a few years ago. They just wait a few years because a lot of cheap C-130's will be available once the A.400M are deliverd to the european Air Forces.

Oops looks like this should be in the Praethuis, sorry

Nice pictures anyway, always good to see a Hercybird.
