Airshows 2008

I heard from reliable sources that there will not be a show at Zeltweg in Austria,or an Archangel show in Greece like the 2005 event during 2008.

Any comments/updates?.

If trrue,2008 does not look so good.

If i read this topic carefully, there will be indeed no Zeltweg airshow/Airpower08.

There should be a Swedish Air Force show in 2008.

If I remember correctly, Zeltweg Airpower had been postponed until the Austrians had taken delivery of (sufficient) Typhoons.

I heard from an Austrian friend that their defence minister cancelled the show. He's against everything in defence. He reduced the EF2000 order from 18 to 15, if it was possible he would have cancelled the whole project! Also he was not at the arrival ceremony for the EF2000. So I'm afraid we'll have to wait for a new government..

Ik hoop u talrijk te herzien bij de volgende editie, die ofwel in 2008 (31 mei-01 juni) ofwel in 2009. zou moeten plaatsvinden.

The next Belgian helidays will be held in 2008 or 2009. If in 2008, this will be in the weekend of 31 May and 1 June.

And Leeuwarden AB for the open day, third weekend in June (insted of Gilze-Rijen for the there ongoing renovations and building of the new accomodations for 300sq and 298sq.

Presumably in 2008 only a photoshoot at Brogel for as they switch between Florennes and Brogel each year for the whole day operation.

Especially for you i am going to look for a fourth airshow in the same weekend. What about the annual Swedish airshow which also should be held next year

Maybe a task for the European Airshow Council to coordinate the dates of airshows. This makes it also for organisers harder to attract nice displays.

In 2008 Edwards will NOT organize an open house but will be back in 2009. The reason given is the consruction of a new runway.

The following is said about the Portugal airshow.

Eu abstenho-me até 2009. Como não consegui estar lá na hora certa não pude aceder ao outro lado. Apesar de compreender e ter que respeitar (afinal aquilo não é assim à balda), tive pena de só ter ficado do lado nascente. Paciência...em 2009 logo se verá.

If i translate it correctly, it will not take place in 2008 but will continue in 2009.
