I can even be more specific, the squadron is 310th AS.Piet Luijken wrote:how do you know its unit?
Stuff like this can very easy be looked up in the online database of On Dutch Wings: http://www.ondutchwings.nl/db/usaf.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Just type the serial 01-0029, or the wing, or the squadron, or it's homebase, type etc. etc.
Don't know if I'm mixing things up right now, but if I remember well... then C-37's (the white once's from 310th AS at MacDill) are used by special agents to rapidly evacuate prominent and high-ranking people from the US Government during threaths and other crisis situations.
Kind Regards / Groeten,

Explanation for its unit as above.Piet Luijken wrote:Just to complement my knowledge, how do you know its unit?
The callsign SPAR is just a regular callsigns for these airplanes, right?
gr
6th AMW is based at Mc Dill AFB. You'll find the headquarters of the US Central Command there, that's why they have these jets there.
The SPAR callsign used to be mostly used by the VIP aircraft at Ramstein.
It is actually an acronym/abbreviation for SPecial Airlift Requirement.
The aiircraft of the 89th AW (Andrews) normally use SAM which stands for Special Airlift Mission.
Now and again you'll hear the callsign PAT, used by a C-20 of the US Army (OSACOM unit). This stands for Priority Air Transport.
