VFA-211 Checkmates @ USS Enterprise

Post by Frank Crébas »

It all took a while but here are some shots I took aboard the USS Enterprise last September in the Persian Gulf. To kick off I start with some examples of VFA-211 Fighting Checkmates. Enjoy!

How in the hell do you arrange something like that??? Or is the US NAVY going to use Brennel as their main uniform supplier??

Hello Frank,

What a wonderful compilation of images. From the sights of these beautiful birds and the pilots eagerness to fly them. And of course the photographers (yourself of course ) effort to photograph them.
These pictures are really breathtaking and you captured the true beauty of the F/A-18 Superhornets. What an opportunity you've gotten yourself into.

Thanks mate!

nice nice nice, I remember there was going to be an arranged visit about 15 years ago around christmas top an A/C carrier in France which was cancelled, don't remember with which organisation. But it would be lovely if we could arrange like that again.

Thank you all for your welcome comments. It was an awesome experience that lasted 50 hours and I think that this is the ultimate, at least for me.
I shot over 2000 pictures during the trip and I will try to share some more in the near future. To start: three more Super Hornets from VFA-211.

First shot that i took on the ship. It was taken with just 23mm (17-40L lens) and I was a bit scrared to whitness this event, soooooo close (and with live weapons)

In some way... all these pix look so familiar, so real and realistic, as if I was there too.

Frank, you made awesome shots pal. 8)
