Forum rules
ImageThis is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

5 MD-11 is still my all time favorite in these conditions.

NustyR how on earth are you able to make pictures like these again and again?

If I did not know better I would say they are lucky shots. But you get them like that (vapour trails and vortexes) every time.

Can you give some tips and hints regarding the timing and conditions?

Thanks Hans,

Tip from the Photoforum (Redskin301): Noise Ninja, to reduce the noise. Works fantastic!

René.

In 2007 I visited EHAM 42 times......I think when you go often you have more chance for the 'good' weather. Sometimes the weather is terrible and you think of leaving, just stay ! Most of the time when the weather is getting better you 'll get the vapour-trails, condensation-clouds and vortexes !
Best chance is @ lift-off and when the planes are cloudbursting. You also need a high % of humidity in the air.

7 You know it is a good day when A330s are getting vortexes and condensation-clouds.

Image

8 Nor really difficult; the aircraft is banking and the background makes this shot complete.

9 While waiting for the BA-767, my favorite 757 is on final while the Tristar Air is on downwind.

I went to the IJweg, westside of the Polderbaan and shot some aircraft departing from 36C ! Because of the huge distance there is a bit noise and unsharpness in these shots........I don't bother about that !
