Let's just put it like this:
EITHER you go on-base and get kicked off at 1600, OR you stay outside and get to see the late arrivals.
You can't have both
Agreed?

Just for info: at Landivisiau for example, they will not have some aircraft in during their spottersday, just because they don't want to have too many people (like spotters) around while handling them. One is the Sentry, which will also arrive at EHLW after spottersday. So I think it might be a request from the participating aircraft not to have spotters at base during arrival. In that case the choise is participating aircraft arriving after spotters event or no participating aircraft. That choise has then been well made.r.kerk wrote:I hope the organisation will let the spotters longer on base because some nice visitors will arrive after 16:00Lt??????????????

I think we just better go there and enjoy, instead of dissing the organisation or trying to push (over) the limits.

i think this one will be more of a gathering then an actual picturetaking day... because the weatherforecasts are terrible (alot of rain)... so i think it is more a day for "de verhalen" then for the pictures ... and that's also fun right???aviodromefriend wrote:Just for info: at Landivisiau for example, they will not have some aircraft in during their spottersday, just because they don't want to have too many people (like spotters) around while handling them. M1157/08 - AD OPR HRS ARE CHANGED FROM MON-FRI 0600-1445 TO
MON 0800-1500, TUE-THU 0600-1600, FRI-SAT 0700-1700, SUN 1000-1200. 16 JUN 06:00
2008 UNTIL 22 JUN 12:00 2008. CREATED: 12 JUN 13:12 2008
According this NOTAM the organization have extended the time of closure.
So the organization made a balanced decision regarding the ending of the spottersday and the end of arrivals at the same day.
It would be forthcoming if the organization would just announce the reason of their decision.
BTW during the airshow of Pratica di Mare all people on base were allowed for a view into the AWACS and up close photography of the outside, so why land with the requirement of no spotters allowed?

Yesterday, after getting back home, I heard there has been a message on the radio, a local frisian newspaper had an article about the spottersday at its frontpage. Maybe anyone has a link, so also the non frisian spotters can read it?

You can search on the website of this local paper: http://www.lc.nl but I'm sure it was an item in the frisian news on Omrop Fryslan: http://www1.omropfryslan.nl/Player.aspx ... 9JUN08.wmvaviodromefriend wrote:Yesterday, after getting back home, I heard there has been a message on the radio, a local frisian newspaper had an article about the spottersday at its frontpage.
