Akie, The Disco Pilot
Don't tell me this thread is dead. I'm finally at a point that I can start contributing....
I'll try to upload something every week.
Let's start with the hero from Bilthoven, Akie 'the Flying Pilot'
The record posted by Roel on page 17 was not Akie's first "hit single".
A few years earlier he 'released' Bell Bottom Blues. The B-side was Keep on Growing.
It might seem strange but Derek and the Dominos (with Eric Clapton) released both singles also. I tried to find differences between Akie's and Clapton's version, but I didn't succeed. I can't help believing that Clapton stole Akie's songs!!
Here's the front cover:
Here's the back cover:
And here's the artist himself

Actually this was Twenthe back in September 1982. There was a squadronexchange between 313Sqn. and 233OCU from Wittering. It could well be that the Harrier T4 Henk de Ridder is "holding" is the XW926/X who crashed just a few months after the exchange (23feb83) !JCD wrote:Henk de Ridder holding a Harrier at Laarbruch?
