F16 Demoteam 2009

The F 16 demoteam announced today that they will be the displayteam for 2009 also. Normally a team will do this job for two years, but they were asked for a third year.

Wat betreft de demo voor 2009, men wil toch de J-055 voor een andere kist vervangen. Zoals het er nu naar uitziet zal de J-015 de nieuwe demo worden met een nieuw kleurenschema.

The J-055 will probably be replaced by the J-015 in a new special color scheme, but nothing is sure yet.

Love to see the J-015 in special colors next year. Already spotted this Falcon a lot of times in very different states:

-MLU i/a at EHDL
-Underneath a CH-47D and on a barge on its way to EHWO
-MLU i/a at EHWO
-active again at EHVK with and without special badge.

So it seems fitting that this Falcon will become the new display aircraft for 2009 and beyond.

Sheik mentioned the new demo F-16 will have a totally new c/s and that it will be awesome.

Hopefully not, as the F-16 Demo team represents the Whole AirForce, not a Single Squadron.
This has been the policy for years as I understand it.

In an interview I read a lot of years ago with the then demopilot Spout, he said it was forbidden by the RNLAF to have the demoplane in a colourscheme that relates to a specific squadron. Although there was a tiger in the tail of J-055 the last two years, and J-063 has been used as the spare a few years ago having 322 jubilee colours.

Wild guess: dutch lion? Well, as this once was related to 315 squadron during the Twenthe days, and given the rivalty then between 315 and 313, I think I'm wrong.

If I am correct a lot of 315 personel transferred to 313 sqn after the disbandement of 315 sqn. Don't know how many former 315 sqn members are still working at 313 sqn, but you never know and maybe it will become a lion.

Given the Viper's anniversary this year, the animal could just as well be a Falcon or a Viper, put on an orange background ???
